Father God, you are greater than the demonic activity we see freely operating in our nation. We praise You that you go with us, direct us, guide us, protect us even in these perilous days. We pray and take action from a place of victory!
If you haven’t noticed, a literal physical and spiritual battle rages around us. The intensity is increasing at a fever pitch. Right now I know of multiple people who are in physical danger because of their convictions, or evil that is raging, or their knowledge of plans of the darkness. What’s happening is demonic. But as high as the stakes are, we cannot be bystanders in these days
IFA’s friend Maxim Belosouv, a Ukrainian pastor, shared that he has a Holy Spirit sense of urgency about the days we are in. We are seeing the battle for good and evil being fought on many fronts. A battle for life as the Supreme Court decides the case that will overturn Roe v. Wade. A battle for truth, as True the Vote and others prove widespread ballot fraud in our elections. And for liberty, pushing back on the encroaching spirit of communism.
Maxim so rightly says, “We must not procrastinate. We cannot afford to wait for the battle to be won by someone else, in some other place.” It is not just communism or abortion or cheating that we are fighting, but the demonic spirit that is behind all those things. We are literally at war spiritually that is manifested in our world in many ways.
Because we are seeing the demonic rear its head on these (and many other) issues, we are seeing crazy supernatural evil abounding in our nation.
Here are just three battles we are seeing this supernatural expression of evil, that calls for a supernatural response in prayer.
The battle for life.
We learned this week that an attempt was made on Justice Kavanaugh’s life by a person fueled by hate and desperate to maintain Roe v. Wade. This person came all the way from California to commit murder in the name of protecting the right to abortion. While our prayers were answered that this man inexplicably turned himself in (answered prayer) to 911 in front of the Justice’s home, yet more threats are taking place even now against Justices’ wives, husbands, and children. Pro-choice activist group Ruth Sent Us has been targeting key Justices by protesting outside their homes. They posted pictures of the sign of the school where Justice Kavanaugh’s children attend, tweeted a veiled threat to Justice Kavanaugh’s wife, and called for demonstrations at the church and school where Justice Amy Coney Barrett and her family attend, even sharing the Barrett family’s daily schedule. A flyer with a schedule of the justices who will be targeted by Ruth Sent Us, and all who are influenced by them, was posted online. A response from state and city officials to disperse these groups, or to address these threats is lackluster. This activity is demonic.
The battle for truth.
Many of you have seen 2000 Mules, the movie that shows the research and findings on the 2020 elections, by True the Vote. Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips unveiled irrefutable evidence of ballot trafficking and harvesting in the 2020 election. They have continued to reveal more and more findings about different locations, and voter engagement organizations that may be at the heart of these trafficking activities. More is coming. The fact that they are revealing this evidence has made them a target both spiritually, and physically. Both Catherine and Gregg have gone on programs to ask for prayer for safety as they continue to share this cache of evidence. They are physically threatened because they are uncovering flaws and weaknesses in our election systems – that’s demonic.
The battle for liberty.
We’ve been watching as the Ukrainian people have been barraged with war in their nation. People just like you and me who one day were taking their children to soccer practice are now cooking a meal over an open fire because their apartment building is bombed out and there is no electricity. Our good friend Vitaliy lost a friend and assistant pastor who was just trying to evacuate women and children. Maxim, whom I mentioned earlier, is ministering to people who have fled the front lines, while the front line grows ever closer to his church and home. Real live danger, life or death. It’s demonic.
So what do we do? We aren’t necessarily the ones targeted with threats and intimidation. May we be like Aaron and Hur who held up the arms of Moses while he interceded for those who are on the front lines. May we continue to hold up in prayer those who are the tip of the spear, for those who are putting their lives in danger–literally–for the sake of the Kingdom and its values. Our prayer must be more fervent, more regular, more targeted, and more insightful. We are the lifeline to those who are on the front lines, fighting the battles that we all want fought. They are depending on us–the intercessors–to pray for protection, for wisdom, for discernment, for guidance. As Jim Elliot (who faced with danger as he ministered to the Auca Indians) said, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” There are people willing to give their lives to protect what is good and the defend against what is evil.
And we must take action as well. Send messages to elected officials. Participate in election integrity activities. Look for ways to uphold life in your community. I encourage you to pray about what action you can add to your prayer.
