I saw this article here https://mynewsbuffet.com/thoughts/beware-the-false-premise/
Now that Democrats have come clean and admitted that the Inflation Reduction Act has nothing to do with reducing inflation but everything to do with climate-change grifting and forcing taxpayers to pay for it, it’s time for Americans to realize that Left-Wing Lucy is always going to pull the football out from under them at the last second. This latest switch-and-bait gambit demonstrated once again just how determined Radical Left ideologues are to push the climate-change hoax.
To a sane, well-informed person, it can be puzzling how Democrats are able to get away with fooling so many people so often with their insistence that everything is an “existential threat.” The secret is that they are masters at the a priori argument, i.e., an argument based on a premise that is not supported by facts. In other words, they try to pass off conclusions as premises, which is a nifty trick if you can get away with it. And, make no mistake about it, Democrats get away with it a lot.
The Dems’ success in using this tactic is due to the fact that a large portion of the population is either sleepwalking or devoid of common sense. An awake, well-functioning mind always pays close attention to premises and is not swayed by name-calling, hyperbole, or emotion.
In the case of climate change, the need to “do something” is based on the a priori premise that there is, in fact, a climate crisis. “We must stop drilling for fossil fuels because of the climate crisis.” “We must immediately go out and buy an electric vehicle because of the climate crisis.” “We must stop eating beef because of the climate crisis.” “We should not have children because of the climate crisis.” The silliness is endless.
Once you accept the false premise that the climate is in a crisis mode — that it’s an “existential threat” to the survival of mankind — you open yourself to accepting solutions you would never even consider under normal circumstances. None other than Prince Harry himself has proclaimed that “The right thing to do is not up for debate, and neither is the science.” Really? Sorry, Harry, but the truth is that both the science and the “right thing to do” are, in fact, very much up for debate.
But rather than debate, climate-change freaks attempt to shame those who do not fall into line by calling them “climate-change deniers,” which is nothing more than a way to avoid a fact-based discussion. Sleepwalkers and those lacking in common sense can be counted on to buy in, because they are afraid to challenge the mob’s premise that there is a climate crisis that it is about to end life on earth as we know it. They find it to be less stressful — and far less dangerous — to simply accept the mob’s solutions, no matter how irrational and painful those solutions may be.
The simple truth is that a deadly hurricane or tornado does not prove that climate change is a crisis. The climate has been changing for four-and-a-half billion years and will continue to change every second of every day. Setting aside the fact that today’s weather is not as extreme as it has been during past centuries, the idea that manmade climate change is the cause of extreme weather is simply not a valid premise. Rather, it’s an opinion.
The real deniers are those who ignore both the science and the historical weather record. I’m not an expert, but I’ve read enough to know that claiming manmade climate-change is an existential threat to human survival is based on virtually no evidence. By coincidence, here’s a piece that appeared in “The New American” as I was writing this article: 1,100 Scientists Proclaim “There Is No Climate Emergency”
Nevertheless, unless Republicans develop a spine and reject, in toto, the false premise that there is a “climate crisis” that requires immediate and drastic action, simpleminded Democrats will ultimately bankrupt the country with a never-ending stream of mistitled bills whose real intent is to enrich the Kerrys, Gores, and special interests who make billions by trafficking in The Big Climate-change Lie.
Now, sit back and enjoy the inflation spike that is sure to come from the mistitled Inflation Reduction Act.
