Principalities and Powers

A classic battle of Good vs Evil

Do you really feel the battle in America is about the left vs the right, red vs blue?

Can you not see and feel the absolute evil in the world today?

I believe this is a war for our existence, for our humanity, for our souls.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

What are we to do in this battle?

I guess the answer depends on your relationship with God?

If you are a Christian, you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and he has already paid the price of your sins. He who was with our sin died that sinners (you and I) can have a restored relationship with God.

As Jesus taught the disciples one day, He asked, “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46). The point is clear. Loving Him, serving Him, making Him Lord requires more than lip service. If we love Him, we must keep His commandments (John 14:15).

Again, Ephesians 6 gives us our marching instructions:

11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

And what is the LORD’s role is this battle?

God is the Judge over all judges, and the source of Truth and Justice.

But God is the Judge: He puts down one, And exalts another. Psalm 75:7

With our full armor of God, our job is to pray and resist the Devil, so he will flee.

Now, if You are not a Christian, and have not accepted Jesus?

This is a lot bigger issue than just the spiritual battle going on around us today.

We are eternal beings, created in the image of God. We are spiritual beings living a human existence, a life which is temporary.

Just think how important your eternal destination becomes! When you leave this world, will you live an eternity with God or an eternity separated from God?

If that is you, what can you do about it?

Here is an answer from Billy Graham, on “How do I become a real Christian”

Please choose wisely, as Your eternal life depends on it.

And you can be on the right side in the battle of Good vs Evil.

Be blessed!
